TCU Development Corporation is experiencing tremendous growth and is currently looking for a Project Accountant to join our dynamic team. Dealing with multiple entities, you will be taking ownership of accounts payable, job costing, account balancing and budgetary controls.



Working closely with the Assistant Controllers and Project Managers in a collaborative management style environment, this is a great opportunity to build on existing experience in a positive, team environment. The ideal candidate is a highly organized professional who is attentive to all details, highly motivated and eager to learn with a positive attitude.



Major Responsibilities

  • Review all invoices ensuring proper support, approval and documentation according to established policies.

  • Process subcontract and miscellaneous invoices and prepare payment.

  • Reconcile sub-contractor accounts

  • Understand each project and its budget with respect to accounting and reporting for the project.

  • Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to the Project Manager

  • Prepare monthly job cost reports and obtain approval from the Project Manager

  • Adjust cost forecasts per instruction from the Project Managers and Director of Finance

  • Review intercompany invoices and reconcile balances

  • Assist in preparation of year-end audit file.

  • Prepare monthly HST reports for various entities

  • Be willing to assist in a variety of ad hoc projects and tasks as needed to support the Assistant Controller and Director of Finance.


Statement of Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience

  • Post-Secondary Education in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant field is preferred

  • Strong ability to analyze and problem solve

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Experience in a multi-company environment would be an asset

  • Experience in project accounting

  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
